Recycling
One of Qualcomm’s commitments to the world’s environment includes a comprehensive recycling program. We recycle paper, aluminum cans, cardboard, metals, plastic, electronics and certain types of hazardous materials. In addition, we are continually searching for more efficient methods to reduce and recycle resources in our manufacturing and office environments.
2008 Director’s Recycling Award
Each year, the San Diego Environmental Services Department recognizes the waste reduction and diversion achievements of local businesses with its Waste Reduction and Diversion Awards. The awards recognize companies that have demonstrated that by using resources wisely, they can enhance efficiency and improve the bottom line. In 2008, Qualcomm was honored with the Recycler of the Year Award.
During the period that was evaluated, our San Diego offices recycled nearly two million pounds of recyclable material including paper, cardboard, plastic, mixed metals and more. We take great pride in this award as we have been recognized as one of San Diego County’s leaders for several years. Past results can be seen our awards page. We look forward to even better results next year.
