Global Citizenship: Diversity - Mentorship Toolkit
This Mentoring Program takes an inclusive approach to mentoring. Meaning that has certain criteria for mentors and mentees; yet offers learning and development opportunities for both. Participants must opt-in and there are tools to help communicate and differentiate the mentor relationship from the supervisors relationship.
The communication tools are designed to help communicate to a variety of constituencies about the goals and expected outcomes of the Mentorship Program.
Each mentor/mentee relationship is unique and requires the mentor to be flexible in her mentoring approach. Qualcomm has developed a variety of tools to assist mentors and mentees navigate their relationship, including a quick-reference guidebook. It contains an overview of the Mentorship Program, as well as, practical tips and ideas around actions that mentors can take to ensure a positive and productive mentoring relationship. This and other tools can help build a strong foundation.
Qualcomm found that continuously assessing the effectiveness of the program – not just at the “end” was extremely important, as it allowed for course corrections along the way. The tools included here will provide assistance in seeking feedback at various points of your Mentoring Program.
