We believe the next significant performance leap will come from small cells such as femtocells and picocells, which bring the network closer to users. Femtos cost-effectively improve coverage and capacity and significantly enhance data rates for users within the femto coverage area. As femtos offload traffic from the macro network, users outside femto coverage also benefit.
